Project Architect

The H.L. Turner Group Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a project architect. We enjoy working on many different project types and providing solutions for our local and national clients, with the goal of exceeding their expectations. Our ideal candidate is an innovative thinker with excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, able to work in a team environment as well as independently, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines.  Current architectural project types consist of educational, higher-ed, municipal, manufacturing, healthcare, industrial, high-tech, government and commercial, with movement into new sectors.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of project experience with Architect License or ability to become licensed.
  • Bachelor or Masters of Architecture degree.

Experience and Skills:

  • Technical and production drafting and detailing experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction material performance and envelope design.
  • Ability to review progress documents and provide comments to staff.
  • Ability to create 3D models to convey design intent through REVIT®, Sketch-Up®, Photoshop®, Bluebeam®, and other enhancement software.

Responsibilities:

  • Space programming, conceptual design and planning.
  • Code compliance coordination.
  • Experience in specification writing.
  • Interior design and materials selection.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and execute project construction documentation on a digital platform and perform project construction administration.
  • Coordinate engineering within architectural design.

  • Ability to draft construction documentation through the REVIT® platform, moderate proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will develop heavy civil/structural designs, as well as plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams for building as well as hydroelectric projects; public and private.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate on project designs, management, and growth of our engineering group.
  • Ability to coordinate with design team, clients, and local/state/federal agencies.
  • Strong design skills and reputation in a variety of building projects. An interest in dams/hydropower would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with governmental agency permitting.
  • Occasional travel and site visits are required.

  • Plan preparation and assistance with designs for hydro/dam projects, building projects, and large and small structural projects, as well as interaction with other design disciplines.

Turner Group Inc. is offering an exciting career opportunity for an innovative, senior level engineer with strong technical, project management, and client relationship experience to join the firm’s expanding civil group. Candidate will develop civil designs, as well as plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams for site development projects and for hydroelectric facilities – public and private. Strong communication skills are required. This is a leadership position with the opportunity to be part of the firm’s Ownership Team.  

Qualifications

  • 9 years or more of design experience and a BS in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Lead the design, management, and growth of our civil engineering department
  • Ability to coordinate with design team, clients, and local/state/federal agencies
  • Strong design skills and reputation in the Northeast market for site/civil engineering on land development and utility design services

Senior Hydropower Engineer

The H.L. Turner Group Inc. is offering an exciting career opportunity for an innovative, senior level engineer with strong technical, project management, and client relationship experience to join the firm’s hydropower group. Candidate will develop heavy civil designs, as well as plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams for hydroelectric facilities  – public and private. Strong communication skills are required. This is a leadership position with the opportunity to be part of the firm’s Ownership Team.  

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of design experience and a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Lead the design, management, and growth of our hydropower engineering department
  • Ability to coordinate with design team, clients, and local/state/federal agencies
  • Strong design skills and reputation in the hydroelectric power market for dams and hydropower services
  • Familiarity with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) processes and other federal, state, and municipal permitting requirements
  • Approved by the FERC as an Independent Consultant to perform safety inspections on dams and hydroelectric power facilities
  • Occasional site visits and travel are required
