Civil Engineer

The H.L. Turner Group Inc. is offering an exciting career opportunity for an innovative, civil engineer with strong technical, project management, and client relationship experience to join the firm’s expanding Civil Engineering group.  Candidate will develop civil designs, as well as, plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams for roadway and site design projects – public and private.  Strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

  • 10 years or more of design experience and a BS in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
  • Ability to coordinate with design team, clients, and local/state/federal agencies.
  • Strong design skills and reputation in the Northeast market for site/civil engineering on roadway/land development and utility design services a plus.
  • Occasional travel and site visits are required.
  • The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work well in a team-oriented, multi-disciplined, small office environment, while meeting tight schedule and budgetary constraints. Field experience a must.
  • Ability to create proposals and complete construction document packages with design, drafting, and specifications.
  • Needs to be a self-motivated, technical problem solver with very strong oral and written communication skills.
  • An open mind and a willingness to teach and learn from others.
  • Comfortable and effective with clients and contractors as direct interface.

  • Design / draft in AutoCAD Civil 3D/Carlson Civil Suite.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to design, draft, and deliver complete construction documents.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in residential, commercial and industrial site design and permitting.
  • Successful applicant will be self-motivated, technical problem solver with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • This position has the potential for significant growth into engineering project management for the right individual.
  • Civil 3D and Architectural Desktop experience a plus.
  • HydroCAD and drainage experience a plus.

Senior Hydropower Engineer

The H.L. Turner Group Inc. is offering an exciting career opportunity for an innovative, senior level engineer with strong technical, project management, and client relationship experience to join the firm’s hydropower group. Candidate will develop heavy civil designs, as well as plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams for hydroelectric facilities – public and private. Strong communication skills are required. This is a leadership position with the opportunity to be part of the firm’s Ownership Team.  

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of design experience and a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Lead the design, management, and growth of our hydropower engineering department
  • Ability to coordinate with design team, clients, and local/state/federal agencies
  • Strong design skills and reputation in the hydroelectric power market for dams and hydropower services
  • Familiarity with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) processes and other federal, state, and municipal permitting requirements
  • Approved by the FERC as an Independent Consultant to perform safety inspections on dams and hydroelectric power facilities
  • Occasional site visits and travel are required

Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Turner Building Science & Design, LLC a division of The H.L. Turner Group Inc. is offering a spectacular career opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to become part of a team committed to sustainability and healthy indoor air quality.  The individual will be located in our Concord, NH headquarters.

The primary responsibility of this position will include HVAC engineering, plumbing, and fire protection systems for industrial, commercial, institutional and cleanroom building projects throughout New England.  Desirable additional technical skills include energy analysis, displacement ventilation, commissioning, building science, and low energy projects.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or equivalent required.
  • LEED® accreditation or familiarity with sustainable design practices.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience designing and trouble-shooting HVAC systems and leading design projects.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
  • Exceptional proficiency with Excel, Word, and CAD or Revit.
  • The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work well in a leadership role of a team-oriented, multi-disciplined, small office environment, while meeting tight schedule and budgetary constraints. Field experience is a must.
  • Ability to create proposals and complete construction document packages with design, drafting, and specifications.
