SUNAPEE MIDDLE / HIGH SCHOOL

Sunapee, New Hampshire

This transformation nearly doubled the existing footprint by additions to three facades or “Stage Fronts”.  Pitched roofs and courtyards incorporated a New England style and helped to create a new image and source of civic pride.

Design challenges included aggressive renovations in an occupied building to improve indoor air quality and installing technology systems, while segregating the middle school from high school populations.  Site design improved traffic flow and provided a safe student path to the bus line with a covered loggia.
